Celiac baby?!
So, my husband and I are both Celiacs, and we're having a baby! He's had genetic testing, but I have not so we're not sure what kind of crazy stuff our kid is going to have to deal with genetically, and what the chances are of it have the big doozy Celiac gene (HLA-DQ2 I think). Also there's this whole debate about whether or not to ever willingly expose the child to gluten. I'm getting ahead of myself though... we're only 8 weeks pregnant. When you've struggeled with Celiac's your entire life you can't help but think about what your own child will go through. At least it'll be brought up GF from the start, and thank God we know what we're dealing with. Too many people go their whole lives without a clue.
