Sorry to have missed your trip, Vera, but I thought I'd add some more to the list for future visitors (i didn't include a lot of the ones that are in the normal lists):
Nizza on 44th and 9th. Italian with gluten-free menu.
Nice Matin is the French version of Nizza (same owners) 79th and Amsterdam http://nicematinnyc.com/
Friedman’s Deli is in Chelsea Market (15th and 9th Ave). They have an extensive gluten-free menu and will soon start to stay open later to serve dinner. Absolutely delicious. Owner is GF so they are very very knowledgeable. Great place for brunch. http://www.friedmanslunch.com/
Blue Smoke is a ribs place on 27th Street btwn Park and Lex. Big place and fun. Gluten-free menu. Good drinks. http://www.bluesmoke.com/
Lili and Loo at 792 Lexington. Asian cuisine. Pretty good gluten-free menu. One of my favorites.
Mozzarelli’s on 23rd on the south side of Madison Square Park. Make gluten-free pizza. Don’t think they are open late or on weekends.
Pala Pizza on Allen Street LES. Really good pizza (sit down kind of place). Somewhat pricey for pizza, but it’s good. Gluten-free menu.
L’Annam vietnamese cuisine on University and 13th. Gluten-free menu.
GustOrganics on 6th Ave and 14th street. Haven’t been there, but know it can do stuff gluten-free.
S’Mac in the East Villiage. Mac and Cheese place with a gluten-free option. Supposedly the best mac in the city.
Heathers bar on 13th and 1st Ave. Bar serving gluten-free beer (some one a dedicated tap with dedicated glasses). http://heathersbar.com/
Peters Diner on the UES around 1st Ave and 83rd. HUGE gluten-free menu. Think ... Traditional diner food, but gluten-free.
Risotteria on Bleeker for risotto and gluten-free pizza. Also has gluten-free beer. Gluten-free menu available. http://risotteria.com/
If you are looking for adventure, there’s always the PF Changs right across the water in NJ. They have an extensive GF menu and it’s easy to get to by ferry from the 38th street terminal. (it’s an easy walk to the north on the jersey side right through the parking lots).
New York is a great place to go on a GF diet. There are the usual chain places, but also lots of independently owned restaurants and gf bakeries. The link below takes you directly to New York places, hope it helps.
Risoterria, also Italian, is also great and I've never had any issues.. I must have eaten here the most..it's more casual than Bistango and everything I had was amazing. very low risk for cross-contamination http://www.risotteria.com/
Rice was super good. Asian Fusion style.. i wish i could have eaten here more. I only ate here once.. http://www.riceny.com/home.php
I didn't see this one on the list.. I had a great GF breakfast at Peters Gourmet Diner..
And I would completely avoid Blooms Delicatessen.. I went in one morning for breakfast and promptly left because the food I saw didn't look good at all.
